I could have shown you
opened your eyes
as mine had been
to the wonders
and magic to behold
all around you
from the mundane
tiny blade of grass
with its droplet of dew
to the majesty of mountains
A secret world
seemingly hidden
from your view
But your eyes
only saw the mud
and the sand
that managed to cling
and get inside
your new shoes
